London Medical started as a Diabetes Clinic and has been the preferred provider for thousands of patients for more than 20 years. It has special interest and expertise in the support and management of insulin requiring diabetes, particularly in children. These patients will use one or more daily injections of insulin and require considerable help in understanding and managing glucose fluctuations.

Our vision of comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic excellence in one centre can be seen in the creation of a practice with experienced Consultants who have access to an experienced Dietitian and Diabetes Specialist Nurse as well as state-of-the-art facilities for the assessment and treatment of diabetic eye disease, cardiovascular health, impotence, nerve damage and kidney disease – all important complications of diabetes.

The team is experienced in the use of patch pumps, sensor controlled low glucose pumps and continuous glucose monitoring. We are passionate about improving blood sugar control and abolishing hypoglycaemia. With these objectives, patients are encouraged to learn from our carbohydrate counting courses and use wireless advanced technology to help improve control and delay complications. An Advanced Pump Training course is run for interested patients.

London Medical cares for both the physical and psychological aspects associated with diabetes through a multidisciplinary team approach involving: Diabetes Specialist Nurse, Dietitian, Ophthalmologists, Vascular Surgeons, Podiatrists and Orthotists, Cardiologists, Lipid Specialists, Sexual Therapists and Clinical Psychologists.
